Acne scar removal cream, whether doctor prescribed or over the counter, is a common choice for mild to moderate scars. It works by exfoliating the scarred area so that new skin can grow and replace it. One thing to take note of is that not all products are compatible with certain parts of the skin. Some creams are only used for the face or other parts of the skin like the neck or body so be certain about the acne scar removal cream you want to use.
Additionally, not all products make use of the same material components. It is important to know what ingredients are included in the cream you want so as to prevent allergies. If uncertain of this, rub a small portion on your skin and see if there are any side effects or better yet, consult a dermatologist.

The American Dermatologist Association states that over 60 million Americans suffer from active acne. Be it adult or teenage acne, it is a common condition that can result in scarring, low self-esteem and depression. The average person uses over-the-counter commercial acne products that claim to result in “clear skin.” These products can contain a low percentage of helpful ingredients and a larger number of questionable ones, which can cause more skin ailments and irritate original conditions. [edit] Timeline of acne treatment The history of acne reaches back to the dawn of recorded history. In Ancient Egypt, it is recorded that several pharaohs were acne sufferers[citation needed]. From Ancient Greece comes the English word ‘acne’ (meaning ‘point’ or ‘peak’). Acne treatments are also of considerable antiquity:
Ancient Rome[citation needed]: bathing in hot, and often sulfurous, mineral water was one of the few available acne treatments. One of the earliest texts to mention skin problems is De Medicina by the Roman writer Celsus. 1800s: Nineteenth century dermatologists used sulphur in the treatment of acne. It was believed to dry the skin. 1920s: Benzoyl Peroxide is used 1930s: Laxatives were used as a cure for what were known as ‘chastity pimples’ 1950s: When antibiotics became available, it was discovered that they had beneficial effects on acne. They were taken orally to begin with. Much of the benefit was not from killing bacteria but from the anti-inflammatory effects of tetracycline and its relatives. Topical antibiotics became available later. 1960s: Tretinoin (original Trade Name Retin A) was found effective for acne. This preceeded the development of oral isotretinoin (sold as Accutane and Roaccutane) since the early 1980s. 1980s: Accutane is introduced in America 1990s: Laser treatment introduced 2000s: Blue/red light therapy Some old treatments, like laxatives, have fallen into disuse but others, like spas, are recovering their popularity.

Acne is a problem that affects a large amount of people across the world. Contrary to popular misconceptions it does not discriminate completely against age or sex. It’s true that it does seem to be closely associated with hormones and people who are suffering from high hormone levels and for this reason teens are more likely to develop acne than any other age group. However, over a quarter of adults will also develop acne at some point in their adult lives. Adult acne can cause depression and social anxiety so treating it can be vital to sufferers. There have been many different treatments for acne in the past but many have failed to regularly and consistently get rid of acne.
1- There are a number of cleansing lotions and moisturizers that can be bought over the counter in chemists or supermarkets. These have a varied degree of success and some will work better than others. Unfortunately they can be expensive, especially if you need to try several before you have any success.

Due to a collection of genetic, hormonal and environmental factors, pimples develop because of abnormalities of the pores lining cells that result in a clogging of the pores. These clogged pores provide a dark, oil rich environment that allows the acne bacteria that causes acne to flourish. Unchecked this process can lead to flat red or dark marks where spots used to be. Called macules they are the last sign of the inflammation in the skin and can last for up to one year.
The acne scars can be divided into two basic categories: physical scars and pigmented scars. The physical acne scars tend to cause an indentation in the skinsРЂ℠surface. The pigmented scars often leave behind inflamed red marks.

I used to have terrible acne, one of the worst in school. Eventually accutane made me better. Now being a year off of it i dont really get acne but my skin gets very oily and then i get a bit of redness because it gets so oily. While being off accutane to keep my skin clean my schedule has been 2.0 salicylic acid in the morning 5 percent benzo peroxide (persa gel) at night. Mixed in was 3500iu daily of vitamin A which helped the most.
But im quitting the vitamin A, the issue now is even wearing persa gel 5 percent it only lasts about 6 hours then my skin is oily. In a 14 hour day this wont work.
So far 2 applications daily of persa gel seems to keep my skin dry, and not oily. However i really dislike constantly putting cream on my face it does not bother me before bed, but i hate it when i go out and right now im putting it on before i go to work, i just dont like it on my face.
